As the Creative Director for rFactor 2, I was responsible for leading the branding and publishing strategy of one of the most renowned racing simulation platforms in the motorsport and esports world. My role encompassed the development of a cohesive and impactful brand identity while overseeing the publishing of content and marketing assets, ensuring that rFactor 2 maintained its position as a leader in the sim racing industry.
Branding
I led the evolution of rFactor 2’s brand identity, ensuring that it resonated with its target audience of hardcore sim racers, motorsport enthusiasts, and the growing esports community. The challenge was to capture the realism and technical depth of rFactor 2, presenting it as the most authentic and precise racing simulator on the market.
I developed a brand language that balanced professionalism with the excitement of competitive racing, incorporating a bold color palette, dynamic typography, and sleek visual elements that reflected the game’s precision and technological prowess. The brand's visual identity was rolled out across all platforms, from the game interface and official website to marketing materials, establishing a consistent and recognizable image for rFactor 2.
By aligning the visual style with the platform’s commitment to accuracy, physics simulation, and motorsport fidelity, I ensured the brand appealed to both new players and professional racers, solidifying its reputation within the racing sim community.
Publishing
In my role overseeing publishing, I managed the release strategy for new content updates, downloadable content (DLC), and special event promotions, including partnerships with real-world racing series and esports competitions. Each content release was carefully crafted to align with rFactor 2’s brand positioning, offering players new and highly detailed tracks, cars, and features that enhanced the realism of the simulator.
I worked closely with the development and marketing teams to ensure that each new content update was supported by high-quality trailers, feature showcases, and promotional assets. These materials were designed to highlight the unique selling points of each release, such as the accuracy of vehicle physics or the recreation of iconic racing circuits, and were distributed across multiple channels, including social media, gaming platforms, and official racing series websites.
